Okay Lord, doing it now …

The lovely Mark Myers mentioned a hymn he knew from his grandmother in a comment: “I heard it all my life. I know hymns aren’t scripture, but there is good, sound doctrine in them. I think I like that one because of a one-on-one, meandering, reassuring relationship between singer and God.”

And I googled it. Found it. Listened to it.

And it has been on permanent play/repeat/play/repeat ever since (and still is).

Thank you Mark, thank you Lord, and a special thank you to Mark’s grandmother!

  1. Thank you! One of my favorite hymns. I love to sit at the piano and play and sing it. I’ve sung it A Capella at a memorial service. It was my grandmother’s favorite. I have long loved this. Hadn’t heard the Anne Murray version, though. My husband loves her voice. I’ll have to share with him.

    • It seems to a be USA thing I am coming to love – the hymns you know and enjoy, And which are brand new and gorgeous to me! I so love knowing so little “stuff” – so many diamonds to enjoy and savour each day!
