We live in that sell-out stadium

I was listening to the radio and caught a snippet of a conversation. About how quickly mega-stars were selling-out stadiums. The comparison was between different “names” and how quickly each had sold-out their own tours. The time was measured in seconds rather than minutes or hours or days.

We all marvel at the power of the internet and what it allows.

”When Jesus and the disciples had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored the boat. When they got out of the boat, people at once recognized him, and rushed about that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he went, into villages or cities or farms, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak; and all who touched it were healed.” Mark 6:53-56

I was at a concert last year. The sell-out pop star offered healing and feeling. A connection. Love. He touched thousands – all of whom had paid a considerable amount of money to be there that night.

Healing and feeling. Connection. Love. Don’t we call that relationship?

And no matter whether it be thousands or that single precious one – all relationship comes back to just one on one.

“And wherever he went, into villages or cities or farms, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak; and all who touched it were healed.”

Everywhere we go, He lays out just the one perfect precious person. For you. For me. The one He wishes us to touch. The one to whom His power will pass. Today know your own power in Him. Know His power in you: We connect. He works. He does all that “heavy lifting”, all that “burden stuff” we moan of. He does that stuff.

You can’t save … or heal … or draw a crowd … ? Nor can I. But we can all love, if we allow. And when we allow … ? We allow HIM to heal and touch. We allow HIM to transfer His power, in His way, in His time.

So why pray for the sell-out stadium and the adoring looks?

We live in that sell-out stadium, we walk in this sell-out stadium, day after day after day after day. Just like He did. Just like He does. All day and everyday: any one of the multitude we live and walk and socialise and ignore and dislike and avoid and work with or love with or gossip about could be “the one” He brought you today.

He has one perfect moment today. One He lays in your/my path – at just the perfect moment for you/me – the perfect time for an other. That perfect moment for you/me to connect – and allow His power to flow … to allow Him to heal … to save … to empower.

And the really odd thing about how He works?

It might just be Him waiting to touch you/me today … to heal you/me … to empower you/me.

      • Amen. Our preferences are where the rub usually is…

“is Love a label?” Haha…nope, Love is a Person. 🙂 He’s the Superstar living in us; we’re just the limo driver. He’s the one everyone is waiting for…many just don’t know it yet.

      • Just checking the back seat – nope. The passenger seat – nope. The driver’s seat – nope! The limo, the road, the horizon, the weather and the whole complete package? Yep!!

    • I recall a similar response some time ago: if I miss my appointed one, He has plenty of others lined up to step in where I did not. Each one of us connected, none of us exclusive, all of us perfect for just that moment. I miss it – you don’t. My “one” walks away from me – and walks right into you.

This is the best team game ever! We are all on the same side!! 🙂
