Three years Jesus nurtured his disciples as they walked, talked and healed. Out of hundreds, He chose twelve to nurture.
It takes three years of nurturing for a vine to become fruitful. There are two pruning seasons: early winter and then spring. Restraining growth increases fruits. Every year requires nurturing, tending, pruning, selecting, harvesting.
The right soil, the right climate, the right way for that vine – in that piece of soil – in that particular place and time.
