If not us, then who; if not today, then when?

I have been connected with a number of spiritual guides. I call it “discipling” – growing together. But I never thought I needed discipling in “music”. That was just “music”. And I think that is why He connected me with Julie. So I would like to formally introduce my “musical” spiritual guide. My sister in song:

Julie Harris: I Sing Because I’m Free

Yesterday Julie added a comment:

“I love reading your posts, Paul … always thought provoking and Spirit-filled … and this one has me shouting “woohooo!!!” And yes – I have another song for you today 🙂
This one is called “Do Something”…

And – once again – as Julie directed and He spoke – I listened. And as I listened I found Don Merritt’s comment (added before Julie’s) nested in the music!

“If not us, then who; if not today, then when?”

Don’s comment … is in the music … Julie brought! WOW!!

I invite you to listen … and then tell me this is just “coincidence”.

“Do Something” by Matthew West

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Julie and Don – thank you
((hugs))

  1. Today was one of my occasional reads of the epistle from St. Paul (the second one). What a great song! Apparently that phrase “If not us, then who …” is very ancient. The Jewish religious leader, Hillel the Elder (born about 110 BC) is said to be the author. The other wise phrase he said was “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation: go and learn.” Wise chap.
A similar rather lovely phrase is down to good old Mr. Wesley. “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
    Blessings.

    • Hiya Keith – lovely of you to drop by. Don’t have a clue which song you are singing 🙂
More and more it strikes me: when we get it – it doesn’t matter how we get it, where we get, or who we get it from – “getting it” changes everything!

  2. Glad you were encouraged by the song 🙂 I am sure I read Don’s comment and that is how the song popped into my head… a walking juke-box, I am, lol!! I am glad He uses it for something good… whenever I plan with our lead pastor for our services, all he has to do is say a verse, share a thought about his upcoming message… and the songs just flow in my head and heart…one after the other… God is so good like that!! But I love the message of that song I sent you. It’s so much easier to talk about something than it is to take action and do something…I was at a very special service this evening where several of my friends got ordained in ministry. The guest speaker said “When you make room for God- He will come in!” That really spoke to me tonight. How much do I prepare for His answer to my prayers? Am I ready for Him to answer?
“Right now… it’s time for us to do something!”
