Prayer request please … (a friends’ update)

Prayer request, please …
This wonderful gentleman knows: “Something is very WRONG – very WRONG!” Disorientation is one of the symptoms. Yet he knows something is very wrong. His lovely gentle lady wife watches and prays and hopes. And after four weeks it is wearing on both of them. Very wearing. More chemo to come, more uncertainty, this infection getting in the way of all that. Draining hope. Draining living. Both of them are in their eighties. Both of them are fitter than me – usually. Please lift them up – emotionally, physically and spiritually. The Lord knows them both. Let Him know how much you care for these two wonderful – and so wounded right now – unique creations. Thank you –

An update –
Received late last night …

Dear team, just to update – .
This wonderful gentleman remains in hospital. His wife continues to spend each afternoon with him. The cellulitis that has taken root in his face and head still persists and has now been joined by serious sinusitis. But in the last two days some small miracle seems to have happened.
I’d promised his wife yesterday morning that I would try and visit this afternoon. When I got there it was good to see the difference. He was tired and not quite as chirpy today as yesterday but still bright, cheerful and aware. Suddenly this wonderful gentleman has decided his time isn’t up yet – “there are too many things still to do”.

Please (continue to) lift them up – emotionally, physically and spiritually. The Lord knows them both. Let Him know how much you care for these two wonderful – and so wounded right now – unique creations. Thank you –

Another update
Received this morning …

“‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.” John 15:12-17
29th April 2016

I do not call you servants any longer.
Why?
But I have called you friends.
Why?
Because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.
We “know” – if we allow.
We are “loved” – if we allow.
We are “friends” – if we allow.
Why?
Because “the servant” does not know what “the master” is doing.
And we know.

You did not choose me but I chose you.
Imagine that – we were never “saved”.
We have always been friends – if we allowed.
We were never saved – because we always were saved.
It’s just that we didn’t allow – the saving.
Until we did – and when we did … ?
And I appointed you to go and bear fruit.
Saving others … evangelising … bums on seats … tell me everything, Lord … I must know EVERYTHING!
Fruit that will last.
That sounds more like “community” …  more like “friends” … more like “allow” others … more like allow love that will last.
So that the Father
(our Father who art in each)
Will give you whatever you ask him in my name.
(my name for my friend – MY God Soft Hands Jesus)
I am giving you these commands
Why?
(we are not servants – we are friends – why therefore “commands”?)

So
That
You
May
Love
One
Another
Which is what friends do for ever.
Friends who know everything.
Friends who love one another

“But in the last two days some small miracle seems to have happened. Suddenly this wonderful gentleman has decided his time isn’t up yet ”

Please continue to lift up this wonderful couple.

Thank you always – each and every one single one –

Paul

  1. Paul, I actually put my reply to this post on another one of your posts….it is early yet. 😉 I am praying for your friends and ask for God’s wisdom to prevail as His always does. I also ask for prayer for my husband and myself as he is having hip replacement surgery this next week. It will be about three weeks of rehabilitation we are told. Thank you so much, Friend. And also thanks to anyone else who will pray for Mike and me. Love and hugs, Dale…. Brandon’s Mom

  2. Lord I ask for healing in their bodies and minds Father. Renew their spirits and restore their souls. Strengthen them Father. I praise you for what you have done already, we need you Lord.Give Paul the words and presence to continue to minister to them in Jesus name I pray.

    Peace to you Paul
