It is completed

Luke 12: a mashup

Friend, who appointed me a judge or arbitrator between you two? How is it that you do not know how to interpret the present time? Why, indeed, do you not judge for yourselves what is right? Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. All that you said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you said in private rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

For from now on
There will be five
In one

Three against
Two and two
Against three;
Father will be
Against son

And son
Mother against daughter
And daughter against mother,
Mother-in-law against her
Daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law
Against mother-in-law.

For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
Do you think I came to give peace in the earth?
No, I tell you, but rather division!
I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled!

I have a baptism to be baptised with

  1. I have never heard this before because I always thought the Life of Brian was making fun of Christ. I did listen to the video and got an eerie feeling….laughed but didn’t feel good about the laugh. The line “we came from nothing and we go back to nothing” wasn’t something that would have been said by Jesus. The video was opposite of all that I have posted today…about Christ’s suffering…our suffering….so my mood is tempered by the seriousness of what I have written.

If I have taken wrong all that you posted…please forgive me.

PS. Whenever I hear someone say that they wish for world peace… (inwardly), I have to roll my eyes, knowing that it will never happen…never be. Our peace comes from God through Christ. It is the only peace that is promised. But that is not to say we should not strive for peace….because “blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God,” (Matt 5:9)

As always, Paul…your posts make me think harder…love and Brandon bear hugs for you today!!

    • Dale, there is never any way to take anything the wrong way. And I have always thought that Monty Python very “grounded”. They receive a “religious lambasting” on a fairly serious interview –

(it is just over one hour long)
What I love about your comment is the honesty. There are going to be lines in anything which can mean “the wrong thing” – the bible is full of them. So – no you have not upset me. Whether this works for you – that is entirely between you and your God. BUT –
That you have the confidence to add your thoughts here – that is MASSIVE! Thank you!!
