An eclipse

The power of the internet and global newspapers. The talk of eclipse. The excitement of eclipse.

A case of hype?

My call …

I have memories of an eclipse over a decade ago.  The only one I have been part of.  I cannot remember whether a full eclipse or not.  I cannot remember how long although my memory says seconds.

A case of hype?

Your call …

.

Eerie. Chilling.
Chilling outside.  Chilling inside.
Up there.  In the “infinity”.
This infinity so close.

This infinity so close.
An orb of sun … A lump of moon …
An oasis of green and blue garden …
And me.

This infinity so close.
And yet this infinity cannot be.
Cannot be so close for it must be …
Infinite.

Light.  Turned to gloom.
Warmth.  Switched right down.
Day. Now not night nor proper day.
This infinity is so close.

This infinity so close.
An orb of sun … A lump of moon.
An oasis of green and blue garden …

And me.

Quite eerie to me.
Is my eclipse memory

.

  1. Here we had 91% of coverage by the eclipse, but since there was overcast and building thunderstorms, it was a bust except for the strangeness of the light for about 20 minutes. My Mom had the news channel on the TV and the hype was so ridiclous, the anchors were making fun of it 🙂

    • That’s the anchors’ jobs when the news is slow! But so glad you experienced a bust. Everyone should experience a bust at least once in their lifetime! 🙂
