“Just believe” – a thought

I believe the bible is true.
I believe there is one God.
I believe …

… in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.  I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Tells you nothing of how I live.  Tells you nothing of how I love.  Tells you nothing of what I think of you.  Tells you nothing of what I want from you – of you – for you.  Tells you nothing of what I will do for you – for me – or not.  Tells you nothing at all about me and who I am.  Other than I have the label of “I am a Christian” pinned to my inner clothing.

Now let me tell you about me.  How …

I live each day in love.
I live each moment with hope.
I see each person as sacred.
I see you as sacred
We can treat each with kindness.
We can agree to not agree.
We don’t have to believe the same things.
We don’t have to live the same way.
Because I believe little.
I need little.
I will change.
I want to change.
I live a lot.
I love a lot.

So if you must believe anything
Believe this first …

.

.

I am not my beliefs

I Am

Alive in this moment

I Am

Living in this moment

I Am

Loving in every moment.

I Am

Always.

.

Thank you –

Paul
