Dejected one rejected one.
Go care for him!
He’d rather die.
Would slip between your fingers like ice on a hot day.
Running down your arm, slipping onto the floor & sliding beneath the door.
He doesn’t want to be her
He’ll not need you
When-
No more he lies dejected and down, upon sheets rumpled from too much time
Spent lying in the dark.
Staring at shadows on the wall, hark!
What whisper, just beyond his range, draws him to pluck at phantoms in the garden.
Counting the leaves and the trees, not one falls without his knowing.
Like some kind of god of negation, self-consuming lies he there.
He cannot …… but he’d rather die!
