Hugs across the miles

.

.

To a brother and sister by three different mums
Family is family no matter the wombs.

Birthed of love and cradled in care
Nurtured and teased with our curly straight hair.

Two in pain now and hurting inside
This too shall pass – no need to hide.

Family is family no matter the miles
Family is family no need for polite smiles.

This morning the sun left you for another night
My night is now day
But yours is not right –

Both in pain now and hurting inside

(this too shall pass – no need to hide)

We are family
No matter the miles

We are family
No need for bright smiles.
