One of my pet peeves when driving a motorway is the increasing tendency for Lane 1 (of 3 lanes) – or Lanes 1 and 2 (of 4 lanes) – to be viewed by car drivers as “The Lorry Lane(s)” – often called “the slow lanes” .
“When driving along a three-lane motorway, rule 264 of the Highway Code states: “You should always drive in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear. If you are overtaking a number of slow-moving vehicles, you should return to the left-hand lane as soon as you are safely past.”” (UK driving rules)
We drove up (north) and back (south) yesterday.
Up was stressful. Overtaking on the right meant frequently moving from lane 1 to lane 4 and back again … or lane 2 to lane 4 and back again … or waiting for a slow-moving (non) overtaker to decide to return to a left-hand lane – a “middle-lane-hogger” driver. It is a selfish style of driving and in driving law it is illegal.
One the way back (late evening) the motorway was very much quieter.
And rather than “obey the law” – I tried “undertaking”. Tried keeping to lanes one (and/or lane two) where it was safe to “undertake” slower moving traffic in lanes two or or three or four. It was way less stressful!
But I was breaking the law.
“The Highway Code discourages undertaking on motorways with some exceptions (rule 268): “Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake”. Undertaking is permitted in congested conditions when frequent lane changing is not recommended.”
Because the road was not congested. And, despite, neither changing lanes frequently or aggressively – in law I was not compliant.
Which of these is the greatest?
Which rule-breaking is the greater sin? Which is judged bad and which less bad? Which driver’s sin should be forgiven – both or neither? Do two wrongs ever make a right? Can you love me and forgive my transgression? Can you love the “middle-lane-hogger” and forgive their transgression?
And who would you love the most? Who should you love the most? Or is love irrelevant in this case because we are talking about the Law and NOT Love.
Just as this question of law and/or love. Choose …
One who only accepts the penis of a man, or one who does not?
And why do I need to know the gender of both before answering? How is that “love”? When “love” is reduced to a definition of just 6 inches.
Which of these is the greatest?
Not being caught … not being seen .. not being judged?
(yesterday I was not “seen or caught”)
Why are those who “break the rules” (of penis putting and accepting) only a problem when they “flaunt it”.
When “they” put “us” in the difficult position of being seen to judge or to love.
Because that is the REAL sin!
Just how can I (be seen to) live “the greatest of these” if you keep making me (be seen to) have to choose between “rules or love” … ?
THAT makes me the one being judged instead of you!
.
.
Is it REALLY because “the bible says” … or is it because you make me be seen to choose between the Law (rules) and the Law (love) … ?
.
.
Is this “All Are (Not Really) Welcome” … REALLY about God or REALLY about me? And …
.
.
Which of these is the greatest?
.
I don’t understand your term “undertaking” and how it differs from “overtaking”. It sounds like both terms refer to passing another vehicle, if that’s right then what is the difference?

Overtaking is the correct way (you go past a car only with it on my left). If I go past a car with it on my right it is called undertaking (remembering that we drive on the left).

Okay, that makes (some) sense. Thanks.

And those who undertake sometimes need an Undertaker.
