My specific little friend is all grown up, I have always been his friend, not his conundrum. He has gone to be a Pastor,in Australia to Shepherd flocks, just as I did, Human Flocks. There are at least a million sheep over here, much like here in Britain, and many more hungry souls, some 20+ million. But don’t let’s get ahead of ourselves, I am going to open the Book of Joshua, as hinted last time in “Polyandry serial 6
‘ I bear his name.’Joshua
As I say, I bear his name, or is it the other way around? Here is a sort of explanation by my Created Ones.
Yeshua, my name in Hebrew is a common alternative for Yehoshua . My name indicates that I am come to “to rescue”, or “to deliver” I am YHWH and I cry for the deliverance of the World.
Yehoshua whose name means Yahweh comes to rescue my people and to deliver them into Canaan.
Moses comes to me without ever entering the Promised Land because of his sin toward me and so I call Joshua to take his place.
“Be strong and very courageous-I say to him-, be careful to obey all the laws I gave to my servant Moses who passed them on to you; do not deviate from it neither to left nor right so that you may have success wherever you go. Keep my Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything I have written in it. Your prosperity and success depend on it. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for I am here with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:5;3:7,I have the right to adapt my own words.

After various discussions regarding Property and Boundaries Joshua tells the men of Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh, to leave their families in the place I indicated to Moses to set aside for them.(East of the Jordan and facing the sun)These men are to be the soldiers that lead everyone into the Promised land.
The Officers make their way through the camps telling everyone toput a few things together, because everyone is to cross the Jordan into the Land I promised to Moses I will give them.

Ok highlights:
The place where the Hebrews are camping is a bit on the nose.
I am leaving with the spies, by night to suss out Jericho to see what a soft taret they hope it will be. Our hopefulls are met by a Harlot named Rahab. A Lady of the Night because it was dark and she must have an assignation with some John or two.
She gives them refuge in her own private “Palace”(Not the best I’ve visited) saying that the whole town has heard how the Hebrews left Egypt and the grief they caused Phaoroah.
The King gets to hear about it, but has no joy, Rahab told him fibs ,lowers the spies down by a rope from her window – who warn her that the bargain would become rather bloody if she betrays them.(She makes a bargain for exemption from slaughter for her family)
Hang a red ribbon by her hole in the wall when we return and you will be spared.
We hide in the Hills for three days and scoot back to smelly place to report to Joshua. Now I can’t keep on counting the blows of this Book so now.
Joshua does a Moses.
We left Shittim – smelly, on the nose, and camped for three days on this side of the Jordan. The Levites went ahead of us, carrying the Ark of the Covenant, and we followed, one arks distance behind it, we had not been this way before – well I am often here, just as I am with the poor in Britain, Australia, America. There is nowhere where I am not therefore I am nowhere. I am in every place and time and don’t you forget it, I see you I am always with you.
Anyways, this is to be Joshua’s moment of glory, to show all the People that I am with him. The Levites enter the water which receds on either side and then they stand, with the ark, in the middle of the Jordan and everyone passess over dryshod, Gee I hate disrupting my Laws of nature because someone hasn’t learned to swim or can’t be bothered to build a bridge. Yes sometimes even I get confused, standing on the arch of the Sydney Harbour bridge as Joshua earns my trust and becomes a big cheese.
From each of the 12 tribes a man is chosen to pick up a stone from the river which Joshua built into a pile for all future passersby to know – know what?
Once all were home and hosed from the crossing the Levites come out of the river and the waters became a river oncemore.
1 Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the LORD had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites.
