Paul
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Romans 1.16 NIV
Though written from an imprisoned Paul, under circumstances where the Gospel of Christ might not be no. 1 in the charts. He has been wanting to go to Rome for some time. He begins so positively but soon disintegrates, providing fear and condemnation for the LGBTQ communities for almost the next two millennia .
In Matthew 11.28-30 Christ said “28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.NLT
For Every.
Verse in Scripture which condemns there are many giving hope. Christ brings hope and his commandments are easy.
We heard from Paul, or they heard from him before the Gospels were written. How do we compare the soft and encouraging Jesus to the often harsh Paul?
Yes, he wrote from the then and there under the influence of the then modern mores of his world. For close on 2000 years we have mistakenly taken him as gospel.
What might Christianity look like if the Gospels had become ink before the Epistles?
