40 Days and 40 Nights
After three of my future disciples had gone their way the spirit led me into the wilderness, to be tempted by the Devil. I fasted and abstained for 40 days and 40 nights and boy was I tired, took everything out of me. So of course old Nick came coyly around the corner to test me to see whether I was my Father’s Son.

” Go on! If you are God’s Son turn these stones into bread. lov-err-ly crusty bread straight from the bakery. You know you want to”
I told his devil-ship that food alone was not enough to keep a man alive, the words of my Father in Heaven provide life beyond mere food.
I had written in: Deuteronomy 8:3 My Father humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Deuteronomy 8.3
A little aside – what is this 40 business anyway?
The number forty to (us Jews) is a number that, when used in terms of time, represents a period of probation, trial, and chastisement (not to be confused with judgment which is represented by the number 9). As the product of 5 and 8, it also signifies grace (5) ending in revival or a new beginning (8) – you know
Moses Exodus 34:28 28Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant-the Ten Commandments.
Noah Genesis 7:12 12And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
Ezekiel 4:6
4:6 “After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the people of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year.
In short it is a very long time especially in Ezekiel’s case.
