I spoke in India

Concordance

I the LORD am everywhere and therefore I have spoken these words – ” I am the Word” in many places and times, at one and the same time, everywhere, yet nowhere. And I have made

I am the one who walks beside you, I am Jesus and I don’t care where you live or how you speak so do not be afraid for I am here.

Anthropomorphically our Lord Jesus visits each of us in our times and spaces, countries and counties, speaks to us in Hindi,Greek, Latin – still, English and in the many ergot of regional climes. When I first wrote the article over at Retheologizing the verse John 1.1 was in my mind.

In Hindi Word = shabd

शुरुआत में वचन था, और शब्द परमेश्वर के साथ था, और शब्द परमेश्वर था।
shuruaat mein vachan tha, aur shabd parameshvar ke saath tha, aur shabd parameshvar tha. ( John 1.1 Hindi Bible Transliterated)

The word Project

Though this is a word for word translation perhaps we might give a thought to the importance shabd holds in Hindu Culture.

In Hinduism words are very important when any word is pronounced aloud or mentally according to the rules of grammar, purification of speech is achieved. As per Mantras regular recitation of these mantras is an armour created around the physical body. From Why is correct mantra pronunciation important ?

Jesus’ Word is pure because it is used correctly in every case and those words depending from it, if used and spoken correctly, surround us with the armour of God. What Jesus says comes to pass is no surprise to the initiated.

Paul speaks Army, so to speak when he uses the metaphor of a Roman soldier’s armour to represent strength in the Lord and the power of his might.

The whole Armour of God

Ephesians 6 10-17 MEV (Modern English Version)

10 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 having your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, 16 and above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Bible gateway The whole Armour of God

In Hindi there is the armour of the well executed Mantra and in Greek or English the power of the metaphorical.

And in Brummie, Cockney, Scouse, Geordie,Tyke, and more, such variants of the Posh spoken English, they too have their purity and armour though slightly rusty if you ask me.

I am the one who walks beside you, I am Jesus and I don’t care where you live or how you speak so do not be afraid for I am here

words, words, words.
