I thought vegans were food terrorists

Mothers’ Day this Sunday (in the UK)!
::
I have discovered succulent sensuous vegan “baked goods” on Etsy UK.  For our wedding anniversary last year it was brownies.  Mrs Paul and I each had half a warm brownie with some vegan ice-cream every night for more than a week.
::
>>> Don’t believe that dairy-eating-carnivores have all the fun! Vegan food (and especially “treats”) are just as tasty AND calorie-laden as dairy-filled options
::
This time is was vegan Rocky Road.
::
Wasn’t sure if they would arrive in time for Sunday.  But a knock on the door yesterday (with flowers from our son and an Etsy box from me) meant they did and have.  Once again Mrs Paul was soon “yummy-yummy-ing” through her (magnificently wrapped) parcel and chopping one Rocky Road piece in half for us to “try” (because one must – it would be rude not to)!
::
Wowsers of all wowsers!  Taste-bud heaven!  This at 4.30pm on a Thursday afternoon.
::
::
Then for dinner – vegan mushroom burgers (from a major supermarket’s freezer aisle) and salad.  Whatever your palate-preferences, they are burgers loaded with flavour!
🥰🥰🥰
::
There was a time I thought vegans were food terrorists.
::
But in the years since our eldest daughter and then Mrs Paul tried veganism and stuck with it – remained happy for the rest of us to carry-on unchanged – remain happy to cook meat for the rest of us …  I have come to learn that this is the same as anything else.
.
This is not about the right/wrong food or the right-wrong “labels” we love wearing.  This is about people – one “people” at a time.  And I am a “people”.
.
I have come to learn that whether I eat meat, or plant-based, or veggie, or dairy, or dairy-free, or sugar or sugar-free …  there is no “right or wrong”.
.
And something else ..
.
I have learned that the less I need to defend/attack your or my “beliefs” in both you AND me … the more choice I have.
.
Because isn’t “belief” simply a posh intellectual word we confuse with that other word “fact”?  And aren’t so many beliefs usually just (commonly accepted) opinions I/we think real enough to run my/our world by?
.
Whereas “choice” (as much choice as I can get) – isn’t THAT what we all want?  Isn’t having “choice” what we call “freedom”?  Isn’t that why we fight over “beliefs” – so we can be free?
.
But how does fighting over opinions make me free?
.
NOT fighting over opinions/beliefs (I have found) gives me so much choice – makes me so much free-er.  That’s also why I stopped fighting over the belief of the bible.  Stopped being a “bible terrorist” (and a “non beleiver terrorist”).  Chose to see Love without Condition as it’s reason.  And life is so much kinder now I have.
.
But if you want to keep fighting about opinions beliefs …
.
I won’t stop you.
❤❤❤
.
Chunk of vegan Rocky Road anyone …
