For we walk by faith, not by sight
2 Corinthians 5.7 New King James Version (NKJV)
This sight, as in knowledge and examination,I liken to my previous Posts on the Nature of Christ, which detailed the progression of the various concepts or Creeds. These attempted to organise those Propositions generated by the particular Assumption in vogue at the time, into easily memorised statements of beliefs or Creeds.
The one we may be most familiar with is the Apostles Creed.
The very first creed is far simpler, concise, and depends from the answer to this questionthat Jesus asked his disciples – “who do people say the son of man is?” What followed are statements of hear say:
- 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
- 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
- 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Then
“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” This is the Jesus Trust, all that we have need of to come to know Jesus.
Each one of us has a unique experience with Jesus, Son of God, walking with him in faith without submitting our best friend, our brother by Adoption, no not Adoptionism – because the Father has made us joint heirs with Christ we are his brothers and sisters, the sons and daughters of God.
