A Time to..

”a time to tear, and a time to mend; a time to be silent, and a time to speak;” Ecclesiastes 3.7 N.I.V.

We have been busy with our ills and Play Group’s Christmas party. Services of Lessons and Carols.Christmas shopping and Bills.

In all of these there is a time, a season, even as short as a week.

In the Muslim Christian interfaith Groups we are looking, as we have done for some time at the Abrahamic Literature regarding Advent. I have been engaged in that to the point of failing to interact here.

Ecclesiastes reminds us of times of war and peace life and death, rending and sewing.

The latest I have just retrieved from the Christian Muslim Interfaith Bridge; spoken in the context of curbing any zealous evangelizing to Sect or Religion. When new believers enter a forum they do not want to be assailed by those whose raison d’etra is to convert because they believe they must save the world.

There is a time to speak, to pray to God and to listen to God. To speak and to refrain from doing so among the littlest ones. We ought not spout great words to demonstrate our knowledge, rather be silent and do God’s good will. Deeds are louder than words, echoing in that meal for the beggar, shopping fetched for old Mrs Best.

If necessary use words, St. Francis of Assisi is reported to say.

There is a time to speak. Refrain from speaking, and the place where words are unnecessary.
