That I may see

That I may see.

Brenton Septuagint Translation Psalm 135:16
They have a mouth, but they cannot speak; they have eyes, but they cannot see;

Brenton Septuagint Translation Isaiah 35:5
Then shall the eyes of the blind be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall hear.

I am sure that we are all familiar with the miracles/teaching surrounding the restoration of sight to the blind.

Why the Quotes?

Well, during my absence I have been musing and comparing eyes and ears, both open and closed. This morning, Aussie time this image popped up.

Blind Bartimaeus. He knew Jesus approached, his sense of hearing would have been more acute. The one who would open the eyes of the blind was coming through. ‘Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.! ‘Announced Bartimaeus, knowing his soul doctor had come. Mark 10:47. But the blind beggar was silenced until Jesus summons him.

In various ways, several occasions.

During other instances when men like sticks walk around, and the man blind from birth, upsets the apple cart, Jesus attacks the senseless blind guides, hypocritical, Pharisees who are blinder than those who now see. Like the gods’s of the heathens, their mouths cannot speak…. Truth. They are blind guides leading all into the ditch of the filth hidden by the painted sepulchres. Not all, but the majority. Or to be kinder, some not most.

The Church Today.

Rona yet rules. Currently our denomination is still governed by what her diabolic flitting about dictates. Italy refused to sell us Rona’s retribution. Our schedule is disrupted, whenever the train is back on track we will be in the second round of innoculees – the healthier over 65s.

Has it come to this, that the Church plays round and round the Mulberry bush at the shofar call of the devil’s own?

Let those who have ears hear, no let them listen that the garbled sound hearing brings, settles into safety for the soul.

Let us then open our eyes and ears to the whispering of the Spirit, whos blows where she will. For those of us who need people to assist their worship may two or three be blown our way that our prayers may rise at the name of Jesus and we will be comforted. The Spirit hovers over the singleton and the hermit and two by two the angels come to join their prayers with theirs, as the Spirit bids them come.

So much fancy has piety that even she may need her ears cleaned out and her eyesight checked. It is our deeds which will aid the day and abate the fear, not our hesitent prayers. Prayer lies in working and all work is prayer – is the Carmelites raison d’etre. Deeds not words, saint Francis said, only speak if naught else gets through.

Let us be reminded that the Goodness and mercy of God has no boundaries and all the works of the Lord are good. We shall overcome our fears, this plague to awake to a new dawn when, hopefully we have grown in love towards all the blind beggards we Christians are.
