Another day dawning!

Here we go again and all that.

.

I sometime wonder how far the human race can go up its own proverbial posterior  before we, as a race, disappear for ever.  Like the dinosaurs.  Now only seen in birds and other hangers-on.

Out of my window … complete with double glazing and a ton of plastic framing, with a desk and home office from which I earn enough money to keep us in comfort, with electronic gadgets and tons of plastic and wood fittings, with cables strung under the desk like some out of control ground-weed, with walls of bricks and cement, a roof of plasterboard and paint and then timber and strong slates, with all this “knowledge” and “intellectual complacency” – with all this “stuff” I now consider “essential” …

That “almost sunrise” still touches something deep and primal.  Something evolutionary.  Connects me with you (so much more than all this hi-tech wizardry).  Grabs some no-longer-used-needed gene … fires up some mysterious hard-wired magic – and says: “You are more than the sum of your parts.”

So I can believe in “God” with as much ease as I press publish on this post.

What “God” is or is not …

I have no idea!

I.  Do.  Not.  Know.

“When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him.  “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.  I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”  “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you?  Bring the boy here to me.”  Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.  Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”  He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:14-20

Jewish audience again … The Demand for a Sign … The Yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees … Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah … Jesus Predicts His Death … The Transfiguration … Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy … Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time … The Temple Tax …

Nothing will be impossible for you.

Isn’t that what we all want to hear … all want to believe?

This almost sunrise this morning and my “hard-wired magic” is receptive to that message.  It is in synch with those words in me and this moment:  We are more than the sum of ours parts.  Together we can move mountains!

Just look at my hi-tech gadgetry and all the stuff we take for granted … We already have “moved mountains”.

We each have that mustard seed of faith and I am past caring what you call it.  Only that we continue to use this mustard seed of faith together for the benefit of each of us and this planet we take for granted.  This mustard seed of belief in me and you.

That we are inherently “good”, that we instinctively know and seek “love”, that we are hard-wired to know when I am screwing you and letting you screw me.  That we have “humanity” and “kindness” – that we have so much more in common than we can ever find in difference.

And that if we ALL knew the answers , then EVERYTHING would be impossible for us because we would know before we did ANYTHING that the consequence somewhere down the line of infinity would be BAD.  That everything would end in death eventually.  Except Love.

That tree of “the knowledge of good and evil” … allegedly “we” had one small nibble of one small fruit … and religion and Christianity tell me THAT is why I am screwed now … ?

I think not.

One small “mustard seed nibble” of knowledge is my saving NOT my downfall – because if we ALL knew everything …

We would ALL be screwed!

And I thank my “God” that I never ever will.
