Celebrating the choice to choose

From whence doth love arise?

I read that “love” is a fiction.  Explained by electrical impulses, hormonal flows, and neurons pinging as neurons must.  The evidence is all there.  Love is not really love at all.

I believe in Love.

I believe in loving relationships that cause me intense pain and joy – except that neither of those emotions are real either.  Also explained by electrical impulses, hormonal flows, and neurons pinging as neurons must.

I believe in science.  But science is also a belief.  Also explained by electrical impulses, hormonal flows, and neurons pinging as neurons must.  Like love.  Or a belief in love.  Or a belief in science.  Or God.  Or no God.

These electrical impulses, hormonal flows, and neurons pinging as neurons must have a  consequence of belief (and disbelief) that we (choose to) name Love AND hate … Kindness AND inhumanity … Arrogance AND humility … Belief AND disbelief.

The “consequence” (of belief) I get to (believe I) choose … of belief and disbelief … the choice of consequence of blame or not … of accusation of not … of love-transaction or love-unconditional …

I choose what any of this means to me.

Why then do we “love” to choose to trash those who use their tools one way when I use mine another?

For my beliefs tools are not mine.

I gathered them along the way – as we all gather all our tools.  Each tool is given to me by another – just as I mine are taken (or not) by others.  We only caretake these tools of belief and disbelief.  I own none for none are original.  So why this chosen belief of “right” to trash or dismiss others.

If none own that which I trash or dismiss … which we caretake as the consequence of electrical impulses, hormonal flows, and neurons pinging as neurons must … then “trashing” is my choice …

Which is why I choose to choose love as my tool of consequence.  A consequence of joy and pain I prefer to feel (rather than “explain”).  A consequence of relationship I prefer to seek (rather than trash).  A consequence of journeying I prefer to imagine (rather than disbelieve).

I choose the consequence of caretaking the consequences of my electrical impulses, hormonal flows, and neurons pinging as neurons must.

We all do.  We all live with the consequences of belief and disbelief (because disbelief is a belief).

Beliefs and disbeliefs we have been given.  Beliefs we gather up and lay down.  That is the universal consequence we all share.  So if love and/or God and/or science is your/my choice …

Then I choose to be grateful I have the choice to choose.

I choose to be grateful for even being able to explain electrical impulses, hormonal flows, and neurons pinging as neurons must.   I am grateful for being able to share the consequences of that consequence – the ability to communicate ideas and facts – to understand images and words of logic and intuition – to hear words which you both uttered and never uttered – to choose which of these consequences I gather up and which I lay down.

And I believe THAT is truly amazing

We are all truly amazing – I am truly amazing!  So do we really need to choose to be better or worse – choose to be right or wrong?

And if my choice of consequence is love unconditional … is of kindness unnecessary … is belief that you are as sacred as I AND that I am are as sacred as you …

Just why might that offend you?
